What if the Christians were right after all?
1 January 2021, updated on 19 July 2021
Note: This is a long document, and it requires careful reading and studying of the verses of Scripture that are given as support. The purpose of writing this article is not to find pleasure in the situation of those who currently have not yet given their lives over to Jesus Christ. The focus is to inform unbelievers what Scripture has already foretold would happen, and to prepare them to accept the Lord Jesus during a period unparalleled in history, when there will be no Christians to guide them.

The time when God's Word is ridiculed, is here
The apostle Peter, who denied Jesus three times (Matthew 26:34; Matthew 26:69-75) when he was questioned about knowing Him, rose from that defeat to become one of the most important writers of New Testament epistles. Despite writing only two letters, these stand out as some of the most important works showing the doctrine of eschatology – the future of mankind and God’s plan for man.
Peter starts his first letter indicating that he is writing to those who are scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:1). The letter is filled with the blessed hope those have who rejoiced in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and also those who are looking forward to His coming.
The first warnings
When he writes the second letter, he looks forward to a time when he would not be on the scene anymore, although what he describes, certainly already happened in his time:
3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. – 2 Peter 3:3-4
We see these people in our time, more than ever before. They are the scoffers. A scoffer is a person who laughs at an idea or opinion someone else has, thinks it is silly, and ridicules the person who holds that view. Has this happened to you as a believer? You try to convince people of their sin and their need for a Saviour, and that the end is nearer than we think. What do they do? They laugh and say that this is never going to happen, that there will not be a return of a Jesus which they do not believe in anyway.
But what if it is true?
What if it turns out to be true, and Paul, Peter, all of the Old Testament and New Testament writers, as well as true Christian believers of all ages were correct? What if the rapture has just taken place and those very Christians that were mocked and their ideas scoffed at, are gone? Let us have a quick look what Paul writes about the rapture:
13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
We are not going to discuss when the rapture is going to take place. What is important is that it will take place. However, given the explanation below, it is rather obvious when the event will take place. First, a short interpretation of the text:
- Paul’s audience, the members of the church in Thessalonika, believed that the coming of Jesus Christ had already taken place. This was the effect of false teachers spreading false information. They wonder what will happen to those believers that have already died.
- Paul assures them that they need not worry, and that those who had already passed away, have not been forgotten.
- He then makes the statement that if Jesus died and was resurrected, then we will also be resurrected. This is one of the most important aspects of the Christian faith.
- Further, he states that those of us that are alive at the time of the coming of Jesus Christ will not have any advantage over those that have already passed away. In fact, they will rise first. After them, we who are still alive at the time, will be “caught up” (from where we get the word rapture).
- We will meet those who have been raptured just before us, those who had already passed away, in the clouds and we will meet the Lord in the air.
- After this, we will be with the Lord forever.
- Lastly, he instructs the church to use this as a comforting message to one another, until that day comes. It has been a comforting message between believers for many years now.

A possible post-rapture scenario
Let us assume the rapture event has just taken place. We do not know what is going to happen during the tribulation, other than by studying the many warnings we have been given:
- Jesus told his disciples about the beginning of sorrows that and the events that will lead to the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24);
- New Testament writers gave clear information about this; and
- John was called out of the present reality of his time and raptured into a future age (Revelation 4 and further) to experience a time where the antichrist rules and life on Earth is in chaos.
Just think back on the last year. (This article was written in late-December 2020.) There is not a single person whose life has not been impacted by what has happened. To single out specific examples of how our lives have been disrupted would be inappropriate as there are many others whose lives may have been derailed even more than ours. All of this is put in negative terms because there are few positives to take out of what has happened, and it is only going to get worse.
In all of the uncertainty, a level of panic has set in. We are told that this is the “new normal”. In no way is this normal but the situation is being manipulated by powers way above what we can comprehend: in order to achieve their own diabolical goals, the establishing of a one-world satanic government under the guise of equality for all. The unbelieving world is falling for the lie and the deception. Christian believers who are trying to convince them that they are wrong, are ridiculed, silenced, and persecuted.
Where are they?
Fast forward from the time Paul and Peter wrote the verses quoted above, until exactly now, and if you are reading this once it has been announced that millions of people have disappeared, you are at the start of the worst time of your life. What he said was going to happen, did. The one-world government and what is tied to it, is given a massive boost when suddenly, in an instant, millions of people are gone.
The rapture may not have an immediate impact in areas where there are few or no Christians. In the small city I live in, we are so few Christians that we would hardly fill an average-sized room if we were all together. Thus, if we are gone, our disappearance is unlikely to cause much of a stir. Eventually though, co-workers and neighours will realise something is not right. For those living in areas that are predominantly Christian, things may be quite different. The media has made quite a bit of money by visualising what will happen when the rapture takes place – unmanned aeroplanes, cars and trucks crash; mothers screaming when they realised their under-aged children, especially babies, suddenly vanished from the infant car seat they were sitting in a second ago; and many other scenarios. For some, the rapture is the fulfilment of the blessed hope (Titus 2:13) but for many more, the rapture will be the start of a horror unfolding before them from which there is no escape.
The first thing those left behind would have to do is to rationalise it. A virus is one thing, but you simply cannot attribute it to the disappearance of so many people. People who are ill and die do not just disappear by themselves. They get ill, die, are disposed of by others and their belongings given to relatives. It is not the case now as there are no bodies to dispose of. In addition, everything the Christians owned is still here. They took nothing with them. You will find their clothes, jewellery, money, Bibles, and everything else left behind exactly there where they were when the event took place. I think this conjures a really scary message.
To explain this, the brainwashing of the gullible masses started a long time ago. If a lie is promoted in the media long enough, viewers will start accepting it as fact. All of those television programmes about alien life are now used to explain the disappearance of the Christians – they have been whisked away on alien vehicles (UFOs) and will serve sentences because they tried to convince those who are now left behind, to mend their ways. The ones left behind are the ones who believe they were correct, and the Christians were wrong. But what if those remaining on earth were wrong after all? The United States government, which for so long has denied the existence of alien craft, now openly admits that these phenomena exist, and have very conveniently created and answer for the lie they have been looking for to explain the rapture.
The immediate effects
Soon the result of the disappearance starts to have a ripple effect. Thousands of offices have vacant desks and seats, which is excellent news as now others can be appointed. Of course, since right now many offices are vacant as companies urge or force their staff to work from home, the vacant desks may hardly matter. Hard-earned skills though, are more difficult to replace. Thousands of homes are vacant, so it is a free-for-all – just grab what you want and move in, along with the luxury of not having to pay for anything. With the Christians gone, there is no one to correct you, and so you do not have to feel guilty about your illegal occupation of their property. This is the spirit of the age – what used to be wrong is now perfectly acceptable and sins that used to be shamefully committed under the cover of darkness, are now flaunted in broad daylight as being the new right. This was predicted about 2700 years ago:
20Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20
When God says “Woe to you” you know you are in big trouble. This is what is going to happen to those that kept on putting off their salvation for another day. If Isaiah’s words do not mean anything to you, maybe consider those of the Saviour, Jesus Christ, who spoke the same to Nicodemus:
19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. – John 3:19
World leaders are in a panic, and to maintain worldwide order, they place their trust in one man, the new false messiah who, through sweet talk, manages to calm them down. He has the plan, but for this to be implemented, it has to be done globally, at once, and all world leaders must cede their executive powers to him. It is this man and his false peace, that John sees in Revelation 6:2, the rider on the white horse. He comes as one who makes peace. However, his false peace has already been described:
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. – 1 Thessalonians 5:3
Indeed, after the rapture there will be a time of peace, and the scoffers can use this to vindicte their opinion that Christians were trouble makers and that without them, the world is a much better place. However, this is exactly the delusion that God sends on them (2 Thessalonians 2:11). Once the second rider appears on the scene, he takes this false peace away (Revelation 6:4) and allows people to kill one another on a scale that has never been witnessed before. Killing one another is just the start of the destruction mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
The start of the economic collapse
The banks are realising something is amiss – accounts are not being paid; and mortgages are not being settled. Deductions from the accounts of Christians will continue until those accounts are empty. Then their services will be suspended, and the house you illegally occupied, like mine, will also see those services gone – there is no such thing as a free lunch. The banks will try to repossess properties, probably with little success. Imagine getting that property out of the hands of illegal occupants when the police are no longer there to enforce law and order. Remember that in 2020 you insisted that the police be defunded out of existence? The new world leader assures everyone that it is for their own good that everyone shares everything, so that everyone survives. As some politician said: "You will have nothing, and you will be happy." Very well when you are at the top of the food chain, an extreme leftist elitist, and everybody else below you has nothing. The disappearance of Christian guidance
The service provider hosting the John Chapter Three website will shut down the site once a month or two has passed without any payment made. It will be the same with thousands of Christian websites that could have helped those left behind to make sense of what has happened and maybe lead to their repentance. Then again, they mocked the Christian believers and silenced them by removing content from social media sites that are "not in line with our policies" [See more here]. They felt it was their right to scream out their views in public in the name of free speech, but when a Christian tried to tell people about Jesus, they beat them up. Now the Christians are gone and while the Holy Spirit, as the omnipresent God, is still present on the Earth, His role as Comforter is no longer present:
16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; – John 14:16
He is the Comforter only for those who put their trust in Jesus Christ. The unbelieving world does not share in this comfort. With the Holy Spirit no longer present to restrain evil, this same evil now explodes. Paul describes it this way:
1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. – 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
[ More information on the coming deception: Decisions you make today have future implications... ]
The euphoric situation soon gives way to panic as those left behind watch on television to see dramatic measures taken to curb public violence and looting. Remember when groups of unbelievers roamed the streets in 2020 burning buildings, assaulting the public, causing chaos and demanding that certain lives matter more than others? Those were the groups who were supported and funded by leftist, satanic, totalitarian regimes and individuals (George Soros, Bill Gates, the leftist media, and the Democratic Party, led by one Kamala Harris) to further their own political causes. Now those groups have served their purpose and they in turn have become the target of the regimes they once supported. The devil does not want anyone to rule, but himself. You, the president, philanthropist, billionnaire, mean as much to him as the beggar on the street corner. Nothing.
The devil versus Jesus
The devil has just one thing in mind – your very soul. He is not interested in how you denounced Christians and their Christ. He does not care that you funded social movements (George Soros has poured millions in to the BLM movement). He does not care if you contributed billions in health aid (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation). He is not interested in the fact that you are an atheist (most of the elitist left in the USA), even a sworn Satanist or maybe a New Ager (and we thought the New Age idea is dead and buried). He is not on your side. He wants to kill you. Remember the verse you heard from some Christian, about having an abundant life? Ah, yes, this one:
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10
There are two persons this verse says are coming for you:
- The first, the thief (the devil), is after you, to steal what you thought you had; to kill you; and to destroy what is left.
- The second, the Saviour (Jesus), whom you said you were not interested in. He came and took away those who believed in Him. They now have abundant, eternal life, in heaven.
Which one did you put your trust in?
A world with only unbelievers
You on the other hand, are on Earth and for seven years, that is, if you last that long, you will have to ensure the tribulation that is going to come. This is what you may expect to happen while you are still alive. The book of Revelation mentions the occurrence of a number of seals opened, trumpets blown, and bowls poured out, each revealing some form of calamity. This takes place from the sixth chapter of Revelation. These events do not all happen at the same time, in some cases they overlap, and there are often long pauses between them. Nevertheless, this is what is going to happen. God said it, and that settles it. Whether you believe it or not is not going to make any difference.
The seals
First, the opening of the seals: The seals represent the vision of four horses, each a different colour, and John saw them in action. They are representative of four different stages on Earth, after the time that the Christians disappeared. The effects of each stage increase the calamity of the next:
False peace
- The first seal reveals the white horse, and it represents false peace, a deception, promoted by the new world ruler, the antichrist. That treaty that people were so happy about, the one-world religion called Chrislam, is a lie. It served to unite religions, notably Roman Catholicism and Islam, and but these religions are all false, and religion leads to death. There is no trace of the true Christian faith to be found in Chrislam and it was just a convenient disguise for the Roman Catholic Church, who are not considered Christian at all. Christians who knew better decided not to be part of it and were mocked and branded for not wanting to promote peace. John tells us the rider on this horse is given a bow to kill, a crown to rule, and he goes out to conquer those who are left behind.
2And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. – Revelation 6:2
This is part of the deception that Jesus warned the disciples about:
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. – Matthew 24:4
The deception comes in the form of supposed peace:
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. – 1 Thessalonians 5:3
Paul mentions this as a warning to believers who will still be on the Earth by the time the devil has already started putting his evil plans into action. This is an example of the overlapping period. The end of the Church age may, and it seems evident that it will, overlap slightly with a period just before the New World Order puts its plans into action. Thus, Paul’s warning is for believers to watch out for the media suddenly pushing the idea of peace and security when we can clearly see that it is not true and is not going to happen. However, gullible masses who do not bother to discern the truth will think that this is a new order of peace and safety that has come, and then a sudden destruction will come upon them.
This false peace will last only until the antichrist has managed to unite those remaining on Earth under his control (he went forth conquering, and to conquer), and then a sudden change in his attitude will start the process of destroying them (a sudden destruction cometh upon them) and they will not be able to escape. It is now evident that he was never interested in peace. His pseudo-peace was a trap.
War
- The second seal reveals the red horse that represents war. He takes peace away from the earth – the false, worldly peace you thought was better than eternal peace found in Jesus Christ. He is given authority to allow the people on the Earth to kill one another. All those who rallied against everything that was right and virtuous, now turn against their own. Killing for the sake of killing is the order of the day. When a killer is tried in court, he screams that his human rights are undermined, and he should not be sentenced to death. Never mind the human rights of the victim. The rider has a sword, and he is allowed to kill who he wants.
6And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. – Revelation 6:4
It is the rider of the first horse (the antichrist) who now gives power to the one on the second horse to take away peace from the Earth. The hate people have always carried in their hearts now cause them to kill one another.
Famine
- The third seal reveals the black horse that represents famine. Food shortages are the norm. You are going to have to barter for food – I give you some milk and you give me some meat, if it is available. Because people would have been consumed either trying to kill others or protect themselves, the economy is in disarray. Although this text does not state it, possibly this is the time when processes are put in place for the mark of the beast which will be required to buy and sell as a way of controlling the available food sources and getting rid of the masses. No mark, no food. Those who decide not to take the mark, will ultimately die of starvation. Note the food source that are mentioned here:
6And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. – Revelation 6:6
Wheat and barley are not worth much and they are staple food for poor people and animals. This is what the poor will have to eat. Oil and wine, on the other hand, are meant for the rich, the affluent leftists. These items are not affected by rationing.
Conditioning the masses takes time. It starts with innocent changes in policy that eventually turn into something much worse from which there is no turning back.
Death
- The fourth seal reveals the pale horse that represents death and is called Death, and Hell followed him. Power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Twenty-five percent of the world now suffers from unprecedented killing, famine, and death. Note how recurring the theme of famine is. Those who die, go to Hell because they did not repent and turn to Jesus in this horrible time.
6And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. – Revelation 6:8
It is interesting to note that the word “pale” as used here comes from the Greek word chloros which means “green” but not the green colour that suggests life. Instead it has the meaning of decaying flesh. One can only imagine a world where all law and order has been destroyed. This is exactly what certain popular groups are shouting for today – to defund and eventually abolish the police. They will get what they wanted, but they will regret it. All of this points to civil war. This war may be triggered by the famine predicted in Revelation 6:6. Hunger drives man to become completely irrational in his actions. Imagine one quarter of the world’s population wiped out in a short period of time. Note again that there are four things that lead to the death of 25% of the world’s population:
- sword – through armed forces or other people
- hunger – famine
- death – death from a number of causes
- beasts of the Earth – an interesting one. It does not refer to wild animals, but the world leaders. The word used for “beasts” is thērion and it appears often in the book of Revelation. In each case, it refers to the antichrist and his cronies, never to wild animals.
The trumpets described here are mirrored later by the bowl judgments in Revelation 16.
- The fifth seal is an interlude telling of those who were killed for their faith in Jesus and has nothing to do with what happens on the Earth at the time.
Natural disasters
- Next, the sixth seal is revealed and there is a great earthquake. While this causes havoc on the Earth, the sun suddenly becomes dark, and the moon becomes like blood. This could very likely be pollution as a result of the earthquake. The stars of heaven fall to the Earth (these may be asteroids, but still the effect is terrifying). The things that are happening in heaven and on the Earth even cause the kings, the influential, and the rich people to hide themselves in caves, and are asking the mountains and rocks to fall on them and hide them from the face of Him who is on the throne. Their positions, influence and money now mean nothing. Do they actually see God sitting on His throne in heaven? Are they now starting to understand that the Jesus they mocked, and whose name they used when blaspheming is now the One they can see, and whose wrath they have to endure?
Four angels are holding tight the four winds of the Earth. Imagine if there is no wind. We often associate the wind with unpleasantness and sometimes destruction, but what if there is no wind blowing anywhere on the earth to cool down the planet, and to drive rain? In God’s infinite wisdom, He created the Earth so that prevailing winds allow the planet to function. Winds carry moisture from the sea overland where it falls as precipitation. We often see that in certain areas where there are mountains close to the sea, the seaward side is green as the moisture blown in from the sea is prevented by high mountains from crossing. Thus, one side gets all the rain and the inland area behind the mountain gets nothing. The Andes Mountains of Chile are a good example. Now imagine if there is no wind blowing at all. The fact that the wind does not blow has a domino effect as is seen in the next events.
- At this stage in God’s plan, the seventh seal introduces the angels blowing trumpets, and each one represents calamity on a scale that no Hollywood movie could accurately portray. Let us look at the order:
The seventh seal follows after chapter seven and starts chapter eight. It introduces a new series of calamities to strike the Earth and its inhabitants, the seven trumpets. The seventh seal introduces us to events that in many cases mirror the plagues that struck the Egyptians:
Trumpet 1 releases hail and fire mixed with blood and this destroys one third of the trees and all the green grass (Revelation 8:7; Exodus 9:13-35). The first angel blows his trumpet. Hail and fire mingled with blood falls to the Earth (the whole Earth) and one third of all the trees are burnt as well as all the green grass. It looks like you will have nowhere to hide from the sun’s heat since the winds have stopped blowing, and all the trees are burnt up.
A hailstorm with even relatively small hail stones can cause devastation.
7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. – Revelation 8:7
We read of the size of hailstones elsewhere, and this is a second event where hail falls from heaven:
21And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great. – Revelation 16:21
A talent is the modern equivalent of about 35kg. You do not need a further explanation to imagine the damage this will cause.
Trumpet 2 shows a great mountain that burns with fire falling into the sea and turning one third of the sea into blood (Revelation 8:8; Exodus 7:14-25). The second angel blows his trumpet. What looks like a great mountain burning with fire (an asteroid?) falls into the sea, and a third part of the sea becomes blood. One third of all sea life dies, and one third of all ships are destroyed. Imagine the pollution as a result of decaying marine life and the oil and chemicals spilt by the ships that were destroyed.
8And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. – Revelation 8:8-9
If this is a description of an asteroid, imagine the result. If we look at the most recent example of an object from space hitting the Earth, we can see the devastating impact that even a small object can have. The Tunguska Event of 2013 in northern Russia devastated large parts of the immediate area it fell on but caused a lot of damage even before its impact (Wikipedia, 2020). Maybe you should do a bit or research about the effects asteroid impacts have had in the past. This one is going to be a lot larger and definitely more devastating.
Trumpet 3 shows something like a great star that falls from heaven and it falls on the rivers and the freshwater fountains. The water becomes bitter and undrinkable (Revelation 8:10). The third angel blows his trumpet. A great star falls from heaven onto the Earth and on a third part of the rivers and fountains. The water becomes poisoned (Wormwood means bitter). Those who took a chance to drink the water, died. This is even worse than the one before it.
10And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. – Revelation 8:10-11
It has often been said that the next great war on Earth will be because of water, not the sea as seen earlier (Revelation 8:8-9), but the fresh water sources. With food scarce, water remains the most prized commodity, and if one third of it is poisoned, there is going to be a massive death toll. If there is no water for farming, there are no crops. The result is famine.
Trumpet 4 shows that the sun, the moon and the stars are truck and they do not give their natural light (Revelation 8:12). The fourth angel blows his trumpet. A third of the sun, moon and stars are hit by darkness.
12And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. – Revelation 8:12
This will no doubt be the result of global pollution as a result of the previous events. Ask any person whose area has been devastated by bush fires, think of California and Australia in the past few years, and they will describe that you cannot see the sun, even during the day!
Trumpet 5 introduces three woes. Remember we said that if God says “Woe to you” it means you are in trouble. The first woe is a description of demons released from the Abyss. Whether they are real locusts, demons or helicopters does not really matter. The point is that they bring torment for five months. Note that they do not kill people, but torment them (Revelation 9:5). The fifth angel blows his trumpet and a pit filled with burning smoke is opened. The smoke darkens the air and the sun. It is what comes out of the pit that should concern you. These are locusts and they are given power as scorpions have power. These locusts though, do not hurt grass or any green things but instead hurt those who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. These people are not killed by the locusts but are tormented for a period of five months. The sting of the locusts is like the sting of a scorpion. The locusts are demonic in their appearance and they torment people.
1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. – Revelation 9:1
Who are those that are tormented? It includes everyone who is still on the Earth. Christians are sealed by God and have a seal on their foreheads, but they are not here now. The antichrist is seeking to copy God, which is why the mark of the beast will be a mark in the forehead or in the right hand. The devil cannot do anything original. He merely copies God the Creator. It is a bad copy.
At the same time, people will seek death as an escape for the torment that they are suffering, but they will not die. To me this sounds as if people will want to commit suicide and it fails.
Trumpet 6 releases four angels to kill one third of mankind. Previously, 25% of all people were killed. Of the 75% remaining one third is killed now, leaving only 50%! Imagine so many people killed by one army. If you thought that Revelation 9:15 represents only a localised war in the region of Iraq (the Euphrates River is there), think again. Wars are fought today by remote control and weapons of mass destruction can reach any part of the world (Revelation 9:14).
Trumpet 7 reveals loud voices in heaven, and they announce Christ’s reign to come. While this does not sound like much, it introduces a new form of anguish, knowing that all kingdoms belong to Him, that His return is imminent, and He is going to strike the final blow to human management and control (Revelation 11:15).
Continuing from Revelation Chapter 12 to Chapter 22
So far we have only focused on the major calamities to strike the earth. What happens from Chapter 12 onwards? Here is a short summary:
- Chapter 12: Divine protection for Israel in the desert for a period of three and a half years.
- Chapter 13: The antichrist escalates his assault and those on the Earth and on God in heaven. The mark of the beast is put in place. It is not enforced, but without it, you cannot function normally. It is interesting to note that only after all of the calamities described in Revelation 4 to 11 do we get to the mark of the beast! It is only applied in the second half of the tribulation. The first part is going to be three and a half years of torment but this is nothing compared to what follows. Think you are great, rich and free? You are no better off than the poor. Your position, wealth and social standing are not going to help you one bit. In fact, it will even be worse for you than for those who are small (no social position), poor (no economic position) and bond (no bargaining position) (Revelation 13:16). Imagine your fancy bank account and credit card that are invalid when you are trying to buy something, because you do not have the mark that gives you the power to buy. You can have all the money in the world, but if you do not have the mark, you can do nothing with your money. Take the mark if you want – but your reward will be Revelation 14:11 and Revelation 16:2. An interesting point about this verse is that it indicates "a" sore – just one, probably indicating that the antichrist's system of the mark has failed somehow and the mark leads to severe infection where it was inserted. Note Revelation 13:16 – the mark is in their right hand or forehead, not on, as some translations indicate.
- Chapter 14: John sees the 144 000 who were on the Earth during the tribulation, and who were killed for their testimony. He sees further visions in heaven that explain the calamity on the Earth.
- Chapter 15: John sees a vision of the temple, and the seven angels who are still to unleash chaos on the Earth.
- Chapter 16: The seven angels unleash God's wrath – a terrible sore on those who carry the mark; the sea becomes blood; the fresh water becomes blood; extreme heat; darkness; The Euphrates dries up to allow the passing through of armies; and more calamities: an earthquake, and great hail.
- Chapter 17: A vision of the Roman Catholic Church, the driver of Chrislam; and armies preparing for war.
- Chapter 18: The fall of Rome and the Roman Catholic system.
- Chapter 19: A vision of heaven; heaven opened and Jesus returns to deal with the antichrist and his forces; the beast and the false prophet are cast into the burning lake.
- Chapter 20: The devil is bound in chains for 1000 years; the millennium period takes place; the devil is set free one more time, he is conquered, and thrown into the lake of fire; the great white throne judgement takes place; unbelievers of all ages are raised from the dead, judged, and cast into the the lake of fire.
- Chapter 21: A new heaven and a new Earth; the new Jerusalem.
- Chapter 22: The river of life; life in the new Jerusalem; final warnings and consolations.
What now?
Let us suppose that the Christians were right after all, but they are now all gone. You have read this article and now realise that you do not want to die at the hands of the antichrist. What options do you have? Well, there is only one option. Choose life:
19I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: – Deuteronomy 30:19
John is in heaven and sees the following scene:
4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. – Revelation 20:4
You will still die, but at least not as a sinner and you will also reign with Jesus Christ, along with all other believers. Everyone who comes to salvation during the tribulation though, will be killed. You can choose to die to live forever; or to die and go to eternal damnation. The choice is yours. While this website is still available, read through the salvation plan, find a Bible, and give your life to Christ.
